If you receive our monthly special offers (sign up here if you would like to) or follow us on social media you may have seen the changes I've recently made to the Etsy shop - here's a summary..
Last year Etsy 'encouraged' sellers to offer free delivery by stating that shops offering free shipping would have priority placement in searches.
Yikes I thought, I better do it, and I duly complied by adding my post and packing costs to each item as recommended - which makes no odds if you only want to buy one card - but gets a bit steep if Aunty Beryl's birthday and Cousin Jim's wedding all happen in the same week!
So, this week I've bitten the bullet chums, and changed it all back! P+P is now only £1 per item and 50p for additional items. I didn't want to 'trick' my customers (YOU!) into thinking shipping was free - and, at the end of the day, we are not mass-produced Amazon or Ebay sellers - we sell carefully designed and handcrafted items for discerning customers. And I want to make your experience shopping with us the best it can possibly be.
Fingers crossed Etsy don't find out ha ha.....)
I'm delighted to be sharing with you a gift guide by a fellow creative small biz owner from Twitterland - she's compiled such a full and yummy lot that it seemed silly me doing the same.
Please go and have a look - Lauren's such a lovely girl too - I'd love you to support her!
Shopping small and independent is so important this Christmas! Click on Cosy Creations Blog to hop on over :)
I'm going to start adding little freebie offers from myself and others here - it might be something I found on Pinterest, something from a fellow creative, or a gorgeous new graphic I've created for you to use like the ones below

So many people I know love Autumn, it's their favourite time of year, is it yours? I love the colours, the cosy feeling as the nights begin to draw in and blankets make their way out of cupboards and onto laps. Snuggling up on the sofa has to be one of the best human activities doesn't it?
Brand new spiritually inspired cards have landed in the shop this week.
Made for peace and empowerment, it is hoped they help to spread a message of love and unity throughout our beautiful world ... which one would you choose?
What a hot week it's been for the end of September - I can't believe the sun is still shining so brightly. Many of you will have been involved with the wonderful #climatestrike action happening globally yesterday, what a powerful, peaceful message! I pray that change is happening and we will move towards a more loving and sustainable way of living. I'm proud I've taken steps over the last year to make my business more sustainable, currently it means my profit margin is tiny - but - if recycled becomes the new norm costs might come down, and / or consumers will be willing to pay a little more for the privilege and peace of mind of caring for the environment.
It's been raining cats and dogs in the Etsy shop - even if it's not outside ha ha! Are you a cat or a dog person? I loved making these and am excited to offer stickers available too!
I'm considering making cards with penguins, budgies, toucans and flamingos - let me know if you fancy any of them!
In the meantime have a wonderful fall into fall friends x
The first Christmas ranges have landed in my little Etsy shop!
Super cute snowmen in pastel rainbow scarves ready to be personalised for your friends and family.
I'd love to know what you think, leave a comment below!
Have a beautiful September lovelies x
Wowsers! I'm not moving for at least 10 years! Lordy lordy... that nearly threw me over the edge lol.
But.... I survived, and I'm here to fill you in on news and new products :)
Have you seen these new lovelies? I tried to design them so they would suit any age and with flexibility of wording 'my cousin/our cousin' and, at least for now, they are at my usual Etsy card price - so ABSOLUTELY FREE personalisation!
If there's any other relative/friendship names or words you'd like to see please give me a shout. I've loved creating them and they're selling really well so I guess you love them too.
If you subscribe to my VIP emails to receive monthly special offers and freebies you have heard me apologise already!
If not, this is for you - I'm so sorry for the long order delays - so many problems with the internet and my printer (Big Bertha weighs 7.5 stone so I had to rely on help to set her up in her new 'office' space.) I'm delighted to let you know orders are back to fast and free shipping of 1 - 2 business days... Phew.. and my new 'office' space is actually nestled on my upstairs landing (I'm not sure what it's called in America, if it's different at all?), which is why I keep using quotation marks because it's not an 'office' at all ha ha ha.
So my lovelies, finding my feet, settling in, ridiculously exhausted, but happy with the move. Let normality continue, hurrah! (Raised eyebrows all round - what it 'normal'?!)
Take care of yourselves in this heat, stay hydrated, rest loads and soak up that lush vitamin d when it's safe to do so. x
Can you believe we are half way through the year already?! My birthday falls a day after the Summer solstice and I can't believe it's just around the corner - Father's Day is almost here - feels waaaay too early! Am I just getting old? Tell me you feel it too :)
Little screen grab of the Etsy store above, proudly featuring some of the Father's Day cards I have available this year, it's clickable if you see something you like. My own Dad passed a few years ago, but I always remember having such difficulty finding cards that weren't too flowery in wording or depicting some hobby that he didn't do! He just liked to drink tea and watch T.V. I think I'll pop a pic of him below in memory, not sure what he'd think of that but he was once snapped by a local photographer and he rather liked the mini celebrity status it gave him :) It's a silly one that I edited for his last birthday card, he did like a giggle x
If you have a man in your life doing the job of loving you the way a Father loves a child - then use the day to tell him how much you appreciate it, relationships can be complicated - this day makes it easy to show you care.
Have a good one friends x
It's taken a long time to get everything together:
cardstock, envelopes, recyclable/biodegrable cello bags and recycled mailing envelopes, but I did it!
Woohoo! And I'm super proud :)
Hardest job in the world and so hard not to beat yourself up for the little things you didn't get 'right' - but it's the big things that matter, are they safe and warm, do they have a clean comfy bed, do they have a lovingly made meal, are they bathed, is their hair and teeth brushed, do you hug them and tell them you love them? If you can yes to these things then you're winning at Mum life! If you're doing extras like taking them swimming, playing lego for the umpteenth time that day and making special voices whilst reading the bedtime story then you deserve a medal! Go you! And let's not even start with the teenagers.....
We never need an excuse to tell someone we love them - but, if we did,
Valentine's is perfect!
Here's 5 really affordable ways to show you care.
1. Love notes
A handwritten note is incurably romantic, leave them on pillows, next to the kettle, slipped into briefcases or stuck to the bathroom mirror. They can be silly, reminiscent, sentimental or saucy, on post-its, napkins, or fancy paper - just make sure the message will lift the recipient, making their heart warm and bringing a smile to their face.
(p.s. notes don't have to be for your significant other, a personal favourite of mine is to write messages of self care: you are loved, you're beautiful, you matter.. and pop them into books at the library or book shop.)
Nothing says I love you like a home cooked meal! It doesn't have to be fancy or cooked from scratch, just prepared with a focus on what your guest enjoys. Choose something simple that you can prepare with little stress - even a fab hot chocolate, served with care - in a favourite cup, will be a welcome, loving gesture. (It wouldn't hurt to cut a few strawberries into little heart shapes too.)
Listening is a REALLY BIG DEAL. We forget to listen. Oftentimes we're so excited to share, or we're so keen to put our view across, that we don't truly listen. Making time to sit and talk - and listen! - is a vital ingredient in any healthy relationship, be that with your spouse, your children or your colleagues. Pop the kettle on and sit down for a chat. Paying attention to the other person, giving them space, and listening deeply is such a loving gift.
4. Movie night
What's nicer than a cosy night in, cuddled on the sofa, lights low, popcorn (and wine?) in hand watching your fave film? Cinema tickets can be expensive, so make your own cinema experience. Turn your phones off, have the kids sleepover elsewhere and get the hankies ready - any film worth it's salt makes you cry right?! Do whatever it takes to make a few hours about just the two of you, enjoy holding hands, delight in your shared warmth and comfort, switch off from the World and just be you two.
5. Give a beautiful card
Sometimes words are really hard to find, here's where are cute cards come in! I've always loved stationary and have kept special cards from special people for years. Seeing love right there, written in black and white, is a treasure to keep and re-read over again, long after the flowers have wilted.
A thoughtful card is a lovely way to say I love you.
Wow, just wow! Bowled over by your wonderful reviews - they mean so much, thank you for taking the time to do this, every one is really appreciated :)
Here are a few from December 2018 - seriously, you're all amazing x

EEK! For the first time we will be offering workshops in our home studio!
During Dorset Art Weeks so many people asked us about 'how-tos' that it made sense to run classes and we're so looking forward to sharing tips, tricks and techniques with you, things that have taken us years to learn.
Classes are limited to 4 people - so there'll be plenty of one-to-one time with tailored and individual support.
All materials will be provided - just bring an apron.
Gentle encouragement and generous sharing guaranteed. Tea and coffee and cake supplied too!
We look forward to playing with you. Find out more by clicking the button!
Ah, at the end of day two I can honestly say it's been a pleasure! We've met so many lovely people and had some wonderful feedback - thank you to all our visitors and customers. Another 14 days to go.
Here's a few snaps from our little venue, we have the studio and the conservatory exhibiting art and craft, and we even have a fairy ring in the garden! Folks have been standing inside it making wishes - some real magic has been happening too!
Wowzers, how about that hot weather? We were sweltering inside a marquee, trying to be professional and barefoot at the same time!
It was great to see some familiar faces and meet lots of new folks too, thanks for visiting and chatting with us! We did several Facebook lives at the show with walk-throughs and mini interviews with other artists, be sure to have a look! Here's some photo's of our stand and a couple from the beautiful surroundings. We're sure you'll notice some new products fresh off the work bench, we hope to list them soon but if there's anything you fancy please message us, we'd be happy to give you the details with no obligations. Until next time friends :)
So excited that there are 7 other artists exhibiting in our tiny village this year, with 2 others very close by! We will be showing our Handmade Dorset work as well as original paintings, sculptures and prints, it's going to be lovely, visit if you can.
No matter the weather (pouring with rain here for nearly 48 hours!), or your religion or none, we hope you have a really beautiful Easter weekend - full of family, friends and fun, however that looks for you.
